Aquaswell Water Stop
Client: Reddiplex
Project: Aquaswell Campaign
Date: July 2008
Aquaswell is hydrophilic waterstopping product developed by Reddiplex. It is a TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) which has had a special compound added to it. This compound means that the TPE absorbs water and swells up. It is used on pre-cast concrete structures such as tunnels or in swimming pools. It swells up within the confined space to fill any gaps and stops water either entering or escaping.
The name and logo design was created first with another designer, Nick Swinbourne, and the strapline ‘Just Add Water’ was added later. The logo is designed to show the process the TPE goes through to create the expansion.
The brochure design uses a lot of blues and greens within the layout to give the feel of water. It tries to illustrate the types of uses for this material and show the main point of differentiation with rival products. Aquaswell can be used in standard water and seawater applications.
The product is in the final stages of testing and should be ready for a full launch early in 2009. As with most new products it is going through a vigorous testing process and this marketing material was developed to test the market reaction with selected potential customers before full launch.
